Every year for the 4th of July, Brian (and now Bennett) and I board a ferry in New London, CT headed for Orient Point on the North Fork of Long Island. We are ultimately destined for my amazing family’s beach house in Southampton, NY, but we always make stops on the way along the beautiful seaside wine country of the North Fork. Just west of Orient Point is East Marion, NY and one of my favorite places on earth, a lavender farm called Lavender By The Bay.
The first thing you notice when you pull up to this incredibly beautiful farm is the most amazing smell of lavender that enchants you before you even open your car door. I’ve never been to Provence, or heaven for that matter, but I imagine this is exactly how they smell.
After entering the farm you can stroll through the beautiful fields of various types of lavender. It is the most incredible place to snap some family photos. When you’re walking through the landscape it’s hard to remember any problems or difficulties that might have been previously bothering you that day. After you enjoyed the fields you can visit their shop that sells a variety of lavender products. I picked up some dried lavender to bring the intoxicating smell back to my home as well as some lavender salt for cooking and baking.
This off-shoulder tunic dress was perfect for prancing around lavender fields. It would be adorable as a swim cover-up during the day, but it’s also an amazing effortless dress for summer nights out. I love the frayed hem and this pale pink color, but it’s also available in moss, red and black!
I hope you all have an amazing day and find some time to see Lavender By the Bay for yourselves! You can shop my look from this post below!
